I hope everyone is surviving this economy and winter weather.
We had a successful meeting in Orcas Island, WA. We were treated
to excellent talks from our guest speakers, Dr. Michael Stamos,
Dr. Peter Higgins, Dr. Kevin Billingsley, Dr. Peter Ubel,
William Whiteford, JD, and Dr. Richard Billingham. We also
had many surgical residents who presented interesting papers.
Sixteen corporate sponsors joined us and we appreciate their
support. Many members were able to tour the San Juan Islands
and whale watch.
I would like to thank everyone who participated and contributed
to our meeting to make it successful and unique especially
Arden Morris the program chair and Kim Lu the local arrangements
chair. Sue Lentz is our program coordinator and made a significant
contribution by handling the logistics of the meeting.

Our next meeting is at Sunriver Resort in Bend, OR on August
5-9, 2009. Sunriver does require a Saturday night stay so
we will be having a special social event on Saturday night
at the High Desert Museum. We will be celebrating our 50th
Meeting this year so if you have any old photo's, memories,
or anything to share, please submit them to Dr. Bob Hoellrich,
roberthoellrich@aol.com.
We do have a website which is being maintained by Sue Lentz,
